Construction of the replacement of Bridge A-38 on Phalanx Road over the Swimming River Reservoir remains underway. The project began in October 2025 and is expected to continue through 2027. Monmouth County has not announced any significant schedule changes since construction commenced. The County continues to anticipate a temporary 90-day closure of the bridge in late summer or early fall 2026, during which traffic will be detoured via Newman Springs Road, Swimming River Road, Colts Neck Road, and Laird Road.
